Through the visual perspective offered by the exhibition space at Dabass restaurant, the allegorical subjects created for this site-specific installation take part in the representation of an underground environment.
The horizontal screen through which the installation is seen allows the observer to perceive mysterious visual dynamics but prevent him/her to verify their authenticity. This work of art shows a rhetorical figure of contemporary progress exasperated by hyper-technology. The scenario is a devastating digital divide, where the biological body (be it animal, or plant, or naturalistic in general), subjugated by the illusory perspective of a dystopian reality, is unknowingly forced to undergo a progressive deprivation of its vital (social) functions, to the point of being substituted first by bionic and then cybernetic circuits, generated by an artificial, unempathic intelligence.
CAVA MUTA is an intimate re-enactment of Plato's allegory of the Cave.
